Every Drop a Testament to the Craft
Pantera de Oro is a brand created by industry veteran and lover of most things tequila - Scott Baird. Scott has been at the foreftont of the spirits and hospitality industry for more than two decades. Leaning into his love of tequila and his experience launching both Tequila Ocho and Ancho Reyes in the US market - he set out to create a new Extra Anejo profile - marked by finesse and balance and not just oak and structure.

In 2021, Scott saw a shift in the tequila world toward transparency, quality, and authenticity. With a deep respect for the jimadores and a desire to curate something meaningful, he set out to craft a tequila that was bold, pure, and agave-forward.
With clarity from the start: no additives, no shortcuts, no compromise.
He found a distilling partner with Compañía Tequilera Los Valores, S.A. de C.V. that was willing to reimagine their production process. Roasting times were extended from 24 hours to 48–72 hours, allowing the agave to caramelize slowly and unlock deeper, richer flavors. Fermentation was also stretched—taking more time to develop the layers, esters, and complexity that only a pure agave spirit can provide.
When it came to aging, he chose only 4th and 5th fill barrels – 50% American and 50% French – that would lend subtle color and gentle oxidation without masking the core of the tequila.
A plan to start with an Añejo evolved over time. After three and a half years in barrel, the tequila had naturally crossed into Extra Añejo territory – developing a stunning golden-bronze color, refined structure, and a powerful core of agave character. The decsion was made to bottle at cask strength - nothing else made sense.
In the fall of 2025, Pantera de Oro was born.
A tequila of instinct and intent - patience and power. Crafted for those who respect the process—and seek purity in their spirit.
